About Hangzhou
Accessible Hangzhou

Aimed to become an international city, Hangzhou has forged a modern transport system that places it at the center of traffic routes.

The Xiaoshan International Airport, already recognized as one of China's ten major airports, serves flights on 166 air routes. The Hangzhou East Railway Station is one of the biggest transport hubs in Asia and every day handles 150,000 passengers on average. Hangzhou is the first in China to have a network of high-speed rail corridors that go out in the four directions of east, west, south and north.

Hangzhou has always advocated public transport as a priority. Already in place is a sophisticated network of "five-in-one"public transport (namely, bus, metro, bicycle, taxi and water bus). The subway system is taking shape and has gone into operation, while railway transport is being rapidly developed. By June 2015, the city had five BRT routes, 606 bus lines, seven intercity lines. Subway line one, two, and four, now in operation, have joined to meet the initial networking need. By the end of 2019, Hangzhou will have completed five subway lines, running a total length of 190 kilometers.

The city's fleet of 80,000 free public bicycles provides unique urban commuting and travel experience. In 2013, Hangzhou's public bicycle system ranked first among "Best Bike-sharing Cities in the World". In the future, Hangzhou is to become the nation's and even the world's fine example of easy accessibility that is realized by integrating networks of roads ,expressways and navigation courses.
