Xi Jinping Meets with President Vladimir Putin of Russia
On 15 November 2015 local time, President Xi Jinping met in Antalya of Turkey with President Vladimir Putin of Russia.
Xi Jinping stressed that since the beginning of this year, China and Russia have cooperated closely in a wide range of areas and pushed in-depth development of bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, yielding a number of gratifying results. It is hoped that both countries continue to strengthen cooperation in the new year, firmly safeguard the victorious outcome of the World War II and the international order with the UN at the core, and push the existing international order toward a more just and reasonable direction. With high economic complementarity and huge trade potential, both countries should join efforts to elevate trade level and in the meantime actively explore cooperation in finance, insurance, Far East development and other fields. China will work with Russia to accelerate the connection and cooperation between the construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt and the Eurasian Economic Union.
Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Russia are keeping close cooperation under the framework of G20. China will host the G20 Summit in 2016, and hopes all parties join efforts to build a global economy that is innovative, vigorous, coordinated and inclusive. China will boost communication and cooperation with Russia in preparation of the Summit and together push G20 to play a greater role in facilitating global economic growth and improving global economic governance. China and Russia enjoy close cooperation within the framework of the BRICS countries, and China will work with Russia to earnestly implement the consensus of the Ufa Summit and promote BRICS countries to play a positive and constructive role in international affairs.
Vladimir Putin expressed that Russia and China keep close exchanges in all fields, and both countries should actively deepen exchanges and cooperation in trade, energy, nuclear power, chemical engineering, high technology, finance, local affairs and people-to-people and cultural engagement. Russia supports connecting the Eurasian Economic Union with construction of the Silk Road Economic Belt. Both Russia and China are devoted to maintaining the international law principles and share similar views on many major international issues. Russia supports China to play a bigger role in international economic and financial cooperation as the next rotating presidency of G20.
